Last Friday's cold-and-rainy was brought to life by this vibrant couple, celebrating their engagement with the neverfail combo of great food, friends and family. Pavina & Stephen, thanks so much for asking me to photograph this joyous occassion, hope you kept the party going to the wee hours of the morning!
This was one of their engagement presents, a beautiful cake knife engraved with all the important information...

Sweeties!

Wowies!

This was a first, scotch on a plate!

His speech included this line: "I was wondering why it was so dark in here....until I realised all of the stars were plucked out of teh sky to be here tonight." Oh, and he was talking about all the lovely guests, and not the fairy lights in the background!

Pavina's parents having a chuckle with the MC for the evening...

The groom-to-be (hmm, that phrase doesn't get used all to often does it??)

I think someone yelled out something about having kids at this stage, their expressions make me laugh!

Pavina getting her groove on!

Congratulations once again guys, and happy wedding planning!!

Machu Picchu "The Lost City of the Incas" - Cusco, Peru (2006)
Had a most exhilarating afternoon yesterday which I originally thought I wouldn't blog about simply because without pictures, I wouldn't be able to do the experience justice. I since managed to figure out how to bluetooth the goodies from my phone onto the computer so here we are. Yesterday's "secret" team building exercise ended up being the Best Fun Ever. I'm not sure if many of you have heard about this before (I certainly hadn't), but we had an afternoon of circus activities - tightrope walking, juggling, trampolining, and the best part - trapeze flying!
Here's a link to the troupe if you're interested in trying it out - Circus Arts Trapeze School!
The last thing we tried was a 'catch', involving a very carefully timed jump, monkey bar hang, and monkey-grip grab by both you and a trained trapeze artist hanging from another bar. Managed to catch this with my trusty little camera phone...
Unfortunately, that's not me. I was trying so hard to time everything perfectly my mind flipped out and and I forgot to let go of the bar! Boo!! Here is me failing my attempt, and here is how it's meant to be done....enjoy!
There's something very special about watching your best friend grow a little new life inside her and then before you know it, become a mother. It was so exciting welcoming little Emily into the world, conveniently timed on what would have otherwise been a lazy Sunday afternoon on the 13th of July.
There's also something entirely contagious when the immensely excited new father gives you a call to share the big news! Seriously I think excitement bubbles were floating out the other end of the phone...so we got there as soon as we could!
Here she is, just about four hours old...

I went and visited Mish, Ed, and Emily again on the weekend, it was very educational to say the least, and I don't quite understand how new parents function on so little sleep. The body must product some kind of constant adrenalin mixed with the stuff no-dose is made out of or something!
Here's Ed looking at her as she emits one of her tiny little sneezes!

A little makeshift baby-sized bed...

I had asked Sonia to make me a little apple-head beanie to keep this little one's head warm in winter. It is so gorgeous but I guess she'll have to grow into it just a little so we don't have to roll the apple up!

In mummy's arms....she looks so peaceful.

A sleepy smile for you to end this post...goodnight!

love always xox
