Cherie
On the eve of NYE, I had the pleasure of offering my cousin half a bed to sleep while she hung out in Sydney for the week. I was so glad we had a bit of time to hang out while work was quiet and we achieved much in that short time, including 6am bikram yoga sessions (I’m yet to revisit at that hour), long conversations about God and friends and family and everything in between, skipping sessions followed by pigging out on party mix, getting fake eyelashes and makeup done for fun, and also a lovely little photo shoot with an old camera that I had wanted to experiment with since I had a model under my roof.
It was funnily co-incidental that I decided to dust off this old typewriter for this session. That day Cherie had decided that she wanted to explore the world of journalism which she had always wanted to when she was younger and the time now seemed right to head down that path…

She typed a nice little paragraph up on here while she let me do my thing…

For those who are wondering, top by Leigh Schubert, knickers from Fleur Wood, and wrap is Cherie’s own from a recent trip to Buenos Aires…

This whole session was meant to be done on the Mamiya camera seen here in this post. Unfortunately the shutter just wouldn’t click despite my many attempts to check, re-check, and re-check all my settings again. It is rather a stubborn thing and has it’s own mind. I figured it could double as a prop and used my other trusty cameras instead.

Love this shot, though I think the colours are a little strange as I was using expired film…

Thank you Cherie, miss you much and can’t wait to see where 2010 takes you!!! xx

Alexandra – thanks for your comment, she made it easy for me and I had been wanting to try something a bit more ‘raw’ like this for a while :)
Trish these photos are simply stunning…how refreshing to find someone who shoots with film still, and medium format I might add! Your work is beautiful. Sarah from Mint Photography
