I’ve been loving each instalment of Kinfolk magazine as it evolves, indulging in rare moments of quiet when I can escape into its pages. I love it’s vision and how it has brought together such a community of wonderful talents and people just wanting to share and learn and pass on skills one to another. You can imagine then how happy I was to be asked by Jessie of Supply Paper Co to be a part of one of the Sydney Kinfolk gatherings, held at the new Cornersmith Picklery to learn the skill of preserving our bountiful spring harvests. It was such a therapeautic afternoon, learning something new, and watching as baskets and boxes of vegetables became take home jars of pickled goods to be saved for later or gifted onto someone lucky. Definitely a skill I would love to master, and a philosophy I truly believe in. Waste not. Want not. And enjoy your pickles!!!
