LIFE: Captured {A Workshop Announcement!}

I’m a bit nervous as I write this post, but also excited as I share with you something my dear friend Ronnie  and I have been working on over the past few months.  We sat down together early on in the year when goals were fresh and hands were willing and realised we both shared a very similar vision.  Over the years that I have been in photography, many have asked when I would be offering a workshop, but I honestly never believed I could offer then what was already out there in abundance.  In the last year however, I have felt the pull to return to what really matters, and to live this way in my own life and through my work.  It is from this desire that this idea blossomed and we are proud to bring to you LIFE:CAPTURED, a super-charged photography and memory-keeping workshop.

Since you have stopped by my blog, I’m assuming you know a bit about me, the love of my life, and my two little loves.  They are the reason I am a lot of who I am and I have found such a joy in documenting our lives and creating these memories, and want to equip other like-minded souls to do the same.  If you haven’t yet met Ronnie (photographed earlier in the year here), you really need to pop on over to her amazing blog Pink Ronnie and check her out.  She is gifted beyond measure in this world of memory keeping and design, documenting life on a daily basis, and takes some killer iPhone photos as an added bonus.  Oh, and did I mention she currently also has four little munchkins under the age of four on her hands?!!  Oooh whee.

For more details on our workshop, please read on below or drop us a line via hello@lifecapturedworkshop.com for more information. Please be aware that this workshop is aimed at amateur photographers and will have a strong family focus.   I will not be delving into the business aspects of photography, nor will I be discussing the ins and outs of wedding photography at this particular time.  You will however have a most awesome time with like-minded individuals learning how to make the most of the tools you already have, and being equipped to create beautiful keepsakes that grow more valuable with time.

WHAT IS IT?

LIFE:CAPTURED is an intensive memory keeping and photography workshop dreamed up by Ronnie (from Pink Ronnie blog) and I.  Together, we believe in photography that’s real and honest, and memory keeping that’s simple, beautiful, and tangible. Through this workshop, we hope to equip others with the both the skills and resources to document their lives in this way.  We aim to teach both the technical and emotional aspects of documentary photography (SLR cameras recommended and iphones encouraged), right through to editing and workflow, journalling and book design, memory keeping systems, Project Life albums, and general organisation of photos and memorabilia. We want this workshop to be very hands on and will cover the fundamentals of using Adobe Photoshop for image editing and Adobe InDesign for design layouts, as well as include a live photo shoot, a design project, and time for Q&A.

WHEN & WHERE WILL IT BE?

We are stoked to announce that our first workshop will be held at the new RAWspace in Waterloo, Sydney on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 9am-6pm.  Doesn’t the space look incredible?

THE COST

The special introductory price for this full-day workshop is $450 and includes workshop materials, design templates and a goodie bag, as well as being fed by the awesome folks at Studio Neon for morning tea and lunch. A 40% deposit will be required to secure your spot, with the balance of fees due 15 July.

Featured Weddings

Wow, it feels like ages since I’ve popped in on this blog.  Our little Luke is now just over five weeks old and definitely making sure his presence is known around our little household.  Jesse is learning to talk a little more and provides us with much laughter each day.  Everyone says this juggle will be hard – and it is – but I wouldn’t trade where we are right now for anything.  So blessed to also be able to work together from our home as husband and wife, and have a pretty awesome set of weddings lined up for the coming year.

On that note, I know we’ve been a little slack keeping up with where our weddings have been featured in the past couple of months so I thought I’d do one nice post for them all.  Hope you enjoy clicking through these links and enjoying these lovely wedding blogs and magazines as we do.  Please click on the title links or the image below to take you to the post!

A new season…

So super excited to announce the launch of my new website, complete with a new logo and a fresh look, with thanks to the amazingly talented Jessie James from Follow Studio.  I fell in love with her work and her unique style a couple of years ago when I first saw it and she has been such a dream to work with through the whole process.

Today is also the start of a new season for me, with my lovely husband home for keeps for awhile.  We spent the morning happily running chores in the sunshine in between taking care of Jesse and it seems so fitting to be able to launch the new site today too as a nice little milestone for us.

Back soon with a cute little family session photographed on the weekend, but for now please feel free to browse the new site and let me know what you think.  Hope you enjoy it!!  xoxo
