Yep, it's that time of the month again where I get to share something a little different on the blog. I've had my eye on this venue for a shoot for ages and so glad everything finally aligned for the creative collaboration. For this shoot, I got in contact with Luom, the designer behind the elegant Luomo Bridal line, and set off a bit of a spark between her and Yummii who has her own gorgeous self titled line of headpieces which worked together perfectly for the look I had in mind. Brides if you are looking for a dress in this style, do check out these two lovely ladies!!
A massive thanks to everyone involved, for putting up with my countless messages, helping me get this organised, and for giving your time and beautiful creative talents to achieve what we did for the day...I hope you like the result!

Luom finished this dress the night before the shoot and saw one of Yummii's pieces and quickly replaced the shoulder accessory with it for something different!

This is actually one of my favourite photos from the day but it doesn't look good this small at all!!

Brinley looks so gorgeous in this flowing gown and the feather headpiece!

Chelsea working it for the camera! Her doppelganger is so Jackie-O don't you think?

An accidental laugh but I love it!

Looking forward to the rest of this week after the crazy one that just went by, I am currently reading a big fat novel written by one of my best friends (how cool is that, I can't even find enough words for a blog post let alone a novel!) and have a few more posts lined up for you this week! Thanks for taking the time to stop by, would love to hear your thoughts on this shoot and any ideas you think I should try for future ones :D!
Following from the sheltered haven of part one of our creative shoot, Jen and I had planned a bit of a crazy day where we were to drive at noon to the Hunter Valley against a totally different setting for part two of the shoot with these amazing gowns. Celeste from Pretty in White had graciously let these numbers be packed in boxes and flown from Malaysia and my were they a sight to behold! I had so much trouble trying to pick which gowns we should photograph from the options available and ended up opting for these ones - seemingly simple and elegant from the front with wow factor as soon as you see the back!
As much as we were hoping for sunkissed vineyards for this shoot, the rain pelted down halfway through the trip and didn't really let up until 20 mins after we arrived, and even then it was just to tease us and the rain started bucketing again. Nonetheless, the Nicola and Kayla were absolute troopers and we were still in the mood to be creative and shoot where shelter would allow around the pretty grounds of Cedar Creek Cottages!

A massive thank you to Nicola for doing some amazing work with the bridal hair and makeup in the blink of an eye, and for being awesome chatty company on the drive to the Hunter and back! To all you brides out there, I highly recommend this talent!

Big thank you also to Yeng who made these delicious floral creations for us to accessorise the shoot. Yeng was actually my florist for my own wedding a couple of years ago and an ex-investment banker who is also quite a contented lady away from the crazy corporate life (although no doubt she is just as busy!). She actually now lives in the Hunter Valley however continues to service both the Hunter and Sydney regions with her beautiful creations.

Absolutely amazing detail in the trains!

Much love, xx!
The ever energetic Jen and I had diarised this shoot a very long time ago and we each took care of different parts to make the whole and it turned out to be a very fun collaboration to challenge ourselves to try new things. In this instance it was working in a studio and we had our fair share of confusion and laughs when we realised we were triggering lights in different studios, and more so when Jen moved the pocket wizard from her hotshoe to a hanging cable and forgetting this, looked around in wonder and asked who had taken it less than 60 seconds later haha! I am glad I have found a kindred spirit as blur as I am, and maybe even someone who has lost more lens caps than me hehe!
A massive thanks to the amazing designers Sara and Pedro for the loan of these amazing numbers, and also to these gorgeous models and our amazing makeup artist Nicola who read our minds perfectly for these looks, thanks for such a great time!! Oh and for all you brides that are reading this, Nicola also loves doing bridal makeup as well so do contact her for your day!
Okay, onto the fun stuff, a little reel of part one of our shoot! Let me know which one is your favourite...I like the first one!

Hope you enjoyed my little creative corner for the month!! A very different part two to follow with gorgeous bridal gowns flown in from Malaysia....stay tuned!! xx
As a wedding and portraits photographer, I enjoy letting myself get a bit distracted from time to time with personal projects that fall into the 'just for fun' category, and for the underlying purpose of staying creative and challenging myself to continue to work in different situations where I can experiment a little with different techniques. Besides my little stint at fashion week this year I don't really involve myself much with it except to ogle at other fashion blogs and entertain fleeting thoughts of pushing my creative boundaries and trying something new.
So here you have it, some of my favourites from a shoot Jimmy and I did on the weekend, around the funky installations that are around the city. I must say that organising, styling, and getting one of these shoots together can be somewhat of a nightmare but when you finally get a group of lovely people together and pull it off it all seems worth it. Let me know what you think!!

Massive props to Jimmy for putting the idea to shoot round these installations in my head, and also to Seema for lending me these funkilicious clothes. Okay back to my day job now! xx
