There's a whole lot of deja vu going around on my blog these days. The post a couple of days ago about my retail experience down Brunswick and Chapel streets in Melbourne was like a flashback to my other Melbourne posts from May 2008 and also my Oxford St post in January.
Well....back in April 2008, I made it to Saturday morning basketball during a break from Saturday weddings. I made a study on the footwork of Ken and Pwoid. The results of that one weren't quite conclusive. It's not quite a year on, but by chance....I found myself doing almost the same sort of thing today. Enjoy the results.
Round one. A classic (standard) baskeball portrait.

Round two. Mixin' it up a little.

Round three. Portrait orientation.

Round four. Actions shots.

And...one more after the cut...
Pig is such a magical animal. So versatile. Pork. Ham. Bacon. Prosciutto (a.k.a. super-bacon). Anyway....Sam and I have switched our annual December bakeoff to a roast-off.
Best crackle ever. It was thin and crispy with a delicate layer of fat. Sort of like Scarlett Johansson.
The secret is to perforate and salt the meat. Then put it out in the sun for a day. Counterintuitive, I know. But it works. We didn't get sick at all.
Mario, I'm glad you went overseas. We would've had to fight over the meat.
YummAy. With a capital A!!!!"

So Trish and I spent last weekend in Melbourne for a photo shoot, lots of eating and lots of shopping. Well, Trish says it wasn't really shopping, since she didn't buy a lot of stuff. It was more like....exercise. Lots of walking. For me....it was more of an exercise....an exercise in patience. Luckily Trish gave me a new camera to keep me company.
These are the 'in between' pictures....taken while not necessarily doing anything, besides waiting for wifey to re-appear from a store. WARNING: These photos have been processed with steroids.
OK, one airport shot with our luggage. The big bag on the left is our new stroller which carries all our babies.
This is Trish looking like a kid in a candy store. A candy store that sold Princess Highway or something like that. Oh no....Trish says it was Coo-ca-chooo. She says it in a "pikachu" kind of voice too. This store held my attention for about 30 seconds before I went on to take photos like....
...this. I was so bored I started practicing taking pictures without looking in the viewfinder. I practiced making the bags the subject, then my shoes, then the bags again. I'm pretty good at it now.
A study in colour and motion, during a 10 minute wait outside of MNG Barcelona. I don't know why it's called MNG Barcelona. Something to do with Penelope Cruz I thinks.
This is the result of 10 minutes of practising motion blur.
Red Rice on Brunswick St, taken outside the Alannah Hill clearance store after 20 mins of waiting.
Self portrait, taken outside the Alannah Hill clearance store after 35 minutes of waiting.
Another self portrait, taken halfway through our expedition on Chapel St.

All in all, the shopping experience was great. I still managed to spend as much money as Trish even though I only spent about 40mins looking at shoes/clothes. Plus we had dinner with her cousin who gave me some hand-me-downs. Expensive hand-me-downs. Including a suit. A suit which surprisingly fit me perfectly.
That is the BEST way to shop.
It's been awhile in between posts. There's been stuff to post about, but at the moment....time on the photo-editing computer has been scarce (i.e. all Trish's). Hopefully I'll have a brand new laptop tomorrow to play with (which will enable me to do more than blogtrawl all day)!!!
Anyway...Zac is getting bigger and learning new words every week. He likes singing and dancing but he also likes throwing balls around. He's got a pretty good arm and he's throwing about a metre with some accuracy now! (that is....a small soft ball, and not the NFL ball pictured below.....)

As usual, Zac is happy to see me.

As usual, Zac wants to check out the photo after I've taken it....

This is Zac getting ready for the snap. He's spotted something in the defense, so he's calling an audible to me. "mahh! mahhhh!!! doh. mah!!!!"

Ready....blue!!!!......34!!!!!!......

Hut hut!!!!

It's a fumble!!!! Zac FUMBLES the snap. Zac RECOVERED the ball at the 24 for -4 yards.

OK little one....we got much more work to do here....
